Food Storage
Having a store of food in your own home is a wise investment. What would you pay for an insurance policy to protect your family from hunger?
A food stora
ge plan tailored to meet the unique needs of your family is priceless. It can protect you from hunger during personal economic challenges, short term price increases and food shortages. It will reduce your monthly food bill, save time and gas on frequent trips to the market, prepare you to thrive during challenging times, and give you a wonderful sense of security.
We are truly rich when our pantry is full of delicious and nutritious foods, regardless of how much money is in the bank account.
Children feel loved and secure when they help parents build the family food stores. In our family, everyone helps. We do this for a few different reasons.
-
-First, we are teaching our children and grandchildren to live a provident lifestyle and follow wise counsel.
-
-Second, we instill confidence that regardless of the challenges we face, our family will be fine. Stories of earthquakes, severe weather, war, etc. frighten children. When they hear a story in the news that is frightening one will frequently comment, "We'll be fine because we have our food storage." There is more to it than that, but it puts their little minds to rest because food storage is concrete. They can see it, touch it, and best of all eat it.
-
-Finally, we build loving relationships through hard work and sacrifice.

We build our food stores to provide security for our family as well as to bless the lives of others. Serving others is a fundamental part of who we are. We live our lives that way everyday. An event or crisis isn't going to change that. We are prepared to share what we have. However, our food stores are limited. There is no way we can feed all of our neighbors. We teach and encourage everyone to build their food stores. Being self-reliant is a great way to live.
The Challenge:
Explore the various topics in this section of our website. Develop a plan to build a food store which will take care of your family and a little extra to share. Decide what you need, how much you need, where you are going to store it and how you are going to cook it. If you hate lima beans, don't store them. Store what you eat, eat what you store! Try experimenting with some basics. You may be surprised how good they are. Take small steps and make them consistent. You will be amazed what you can accomplish.
