What is "Your Family Ark"?
We created "Your Family Ark" in an effort to educate and motivate families to live providently become prepared for the future. Our goal is to provide you with the information and resources that you need to simplify the process.
In the Bible, there is a story about a prophet named Noah who was commanded by the Lord to build an ark because He was going to flood the earth. I would imagine that was a formidable task for even a prophet. He must have had a tremendous amount of support from Mrs. Noah and his family. It took him a long time to build that ark, board by board, nail by nail. Others looked on and mocked him while they continued to enjoy a carefree life. When the rain started, Noah and his family were safely aboard the ark. Their obedience saved them.
Like Noah, we must build an ark to save our family. Unlike Noah, we don't know exactly what we need to be saved from. Unemployment, poor health, natural disasters, man-made disasters, civil unrest, economic challenges ... we don't know exactly what our challenges will be. However, if we build our ark as we should by living providently and preparing wisely, it doesn't really matter. Our family will be strong and face the challenges with courage and confidence.
Why should I take the time, energy, and resources to get prepared for something that may never happen?
Our world is a dangerous place. We do not have to look far to see evidence of natural and man-made disasters and crises around us. The choice to make preparations is absolutely yours. The consequences of failing to prepare may be devastating.
Developing a provident living mind set may be difficult at first, but as it becomes a way of life, it brings peace and comfort. It is easier than you may think. Preparing as a family can be fun and rewarding. It can build quality relationships as an understanding develops that the family is working together toward this goal out of love for each member.
We are not preparing for a one-time event. We are learning to live providently and develop skills that will help us face any challenges we might come up against.
If for no other reason, do it because it is the right thing. You can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution. Recent events have demonstrated that when a community's citizens are unprepared, absolute chaos and devastation takes place. We invite you to start with your family and then spread your influence to your neighborhood. One can make an amazing difference!
